When root tips reach the breathable fabric wall of a RhizoPot, exposure to air naturally "prunes" the lead root tip. This triggers the plant to send out hundreds of secondary lateral root branches from the centre of the root mass, establishing a dense, web-like root structure. A larger, more active root surface area enables crops to absorb water and fertilisers far more efficiently - accelerating vegetative growth rates, increasing drought tolerance, and maximising final harvest weights.
