How to Use Florifi Soyabean Meal
Frequently Asked Questions
Soyabean Meal is a high-protein food product, it can be attractive to curious dogs, rodents, or foxes if left in a pile on the surface. To prevent this, always scratch the meal into the top inch of soil and water it in well. Once it begins to break down and integrate with the soil biology (usually within 24–48 hours), it loses its "food" scent to animals while remaining a feast for your plants.
Not at all! That white fuzz is actually beneficial saprophytic fungi, often called soil fluff. It is a visual sign that the soybean meal is successfully breaking down and that your soil’s microbial life is active. This fungus is harmless to your plants, it is simply the "digestive system" of the soil turning the protein in the meal into nitrogen for your roots.
Soybean meal is excellent for almost all garden plants, especially "heavy feeders" like roses, tomatoes, and leafy greens. However, because it is slightly acidic during the breakdown process, it is exceptionally good for acid-loving plants like blueberries and azaleas. The only time to be cautious is with very young seedlings, because soy is so potent, you should mix it into the soil at least a week before planting to avoid "burning" tender new roots during the initial microbial flush.
